"I loved real, real hard once. But the love wasn’t returned. Found out the man I’d die for, he wasn’t even concerned. I tried and I tried to keep him in my life. I cried and I cried, but I couldn’t make it right. But I loved the young man, and if you ever been in love.., then you’d understand."

Idk why ppl wear clothing with poc cultural icons on them like forever 21 is actually profiting off Frida Kahlo’s image. A woman who actually hated white people. She Was a communist, anti capitalist feminist who rejected the western idea of beauty. She is a big inspiration to latinx people and to use her image for fashion and that same western idea of beauty she hated is horrible.

Rae: “I just can’t eat in front of people.”

Stacey: “Why not?”

Rae: “Well, because, if I eat unhealthy food, then people will think ‘Oh, look at that fat cow. No wonder she got to that size,’ and if I eat healthy food, then they think ‘Well, who’re you trying to kid, love? You didn’t get to that size by eating salads.’”

The fat experience in a nutshell. Bloody hell, My Mad Fat Diary is brilliant.

I’ve still only watched the first episode. I need to get to the rest.

This used to be my problem exactly
